DURING YOUR FIRST VISIT TO OUR CLINIC YOU CAN EXPECT THE FOLLOWING:
After a warm welcome, the assistant will provide you with a medical questionnaire to be filled in as complete as possible in the waiting room.
Subsequently you will have an intake meeting with the chiropractor, followed by a thorough physical examination. This includes orthopaedic, neurologic, and chiropractic tests. If necessary, muscle-testing using the most modern sEMG equipment, and a total body scan using the Lunar iDXA Total Bodyscan are included. Afterwards the chiropractor will carefully examine your file in order to compose a concrete treatment plan.
A chiropractic correction is safe, effective, and painless.
Response to the treatment
Most patients have a comfortable and good feeling after the adjustment. However, there might be certain potential side effects in response to a treatment. These may be muscle aches, fatigue, but also dizziness and nausea. In some rare cases the intensity of the complaints may increase momentarily, but will subside shortly and one will soon feel better than before the reaction. Thus, these ‘reactions’ are nothing to worry about, and are (sometimes) an unfortunate part of the adjustment. Generally, these side effects only occur after the first and/or second treatment. However, basically a reaction can take place at any given moment.
Every patient is different and every complaint is different too. Therefore, the chiropractor will compose a specific treatmentplan for you, holding concrete advice and recommendations. Thus, it is important for you to follow the treatment plan and act upon what is in your ROF binder. Attend chiroworkshop!
However, we do wish to provide you with some general recommendations that will suffice for most complaints we treat in our clinic
- heating (icing for acute complaints)
- stay active (avoid repetitive movements)
- avoid lying on your front
